Dr. Mansoor Farooki
“Dr. Mansoor Farooki is a board-certified physician specializing in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine, with over 50 years of clinical practice across New York City and Long Island. As the founding physician of RASMED Clinic, Dr. Farooki has shaped the practice around a core conviction: that exceptional medical care is not a privilege, but a right — and that every patient, regardless of age, language, or insurance status, deserves the same attentive, personalized attention that defines truly great medicine. Born and educated in Pakistan, Dr. Farooki completed his medical training at King Edward Medical University (KEMU) in Lahore, earning his Doctor of Medicine in 1974. One of the oldest and most academically rigorous medical institutions in South Asia — founded in 1860 — KEMU has produced generations of physicians practicing across the United Kingdom, the United States, and beyond. Following his graduation, Dr. Farooki pursued postgraduate specialization in Internal Medicine, Nuclear Medicine, and Geriatric Medicine, developing a rare clinical range that has served his patients across five decades. He is affiliated with New York Community Hospital of Brooklyn. Dr. Farooki's primary clinical expertise lies in the diagnosis and long-term management of complex adult and geriatric conditions. His patients rely on him for the ongoing management of hypertension, type 2 diabetes, hyperlipidemia, coronary artery disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), hypothyroidism, kidney disease, and the constellation of age-related conditions that require coordinated, whole-patient care. His additional background in Nuclear Medicine contributes a diagnostic depth that benefits patients presenting with complex cardiovascular or endocrine findings. Beyond general internal medicine, Dr. Farooki holds specialized federal certifications that make RASMED Clinic a comprehensive destination for patients with specialized documentation needs. He is a designated USCIS Civil Surgeon, federally authorized to conduct Form I-693 immigration medical examinations required by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services for green card and permanent residency applicants. He is among a select group of certified surgeons serving Nassau County and Kings County. He is also a certified Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Medical Examiner listed on the FMCSA National Registry, conducting DOT physical examinations for commercial truck drivers, bus operators, and CDL holders. Additionally, Dr. Farooki is a federally licensed buprenorphine prescriber, offering Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) with Suboxone (buprenorphine/naloxone) for patients managing opioid use disorder as part of a comprehensive recovery plan. Across 50 years of medicine, Dr. Farooki has learned that the most powerful diagnostic tool available to any physician is the time spent truly listening to a patient. He conducts thorough consultations, explains diagnoses and treatment options in plain language, and works collaboratively with each patient to develop a care plan that fits their real life — not just their lab results. His approach is especially well-suited to geriatric patients, for whom multiple chronic conditions, polypharmacy, and the natural changes of aging require a physician who can see the whole person. Dr. Farooki is fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi, enabling him to communicate directly with patients from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and across the South Asian diaspora. This linguistic and cultural familiarity removes a genuine barrier to care that affects many patients in the Brooklyn and Long Island communities RASMED serves, ensuring that medical decisions are made with full mutual understanding. Dr. Farooki sees patients at RASMED Clinic's Valley Stream and Brooklyn locations and is currently accepting new patients. Walk-in and same-day appointments are available, and telemedicine consultations can be arranged for established patients.”
Dr. Syed Z. Hussaini
“Dr. Syed Z. Hussaini is a dual board-certified physician in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine, bringing over 20 years of clinical experience to his role as a founding physician at RASMED Clinic. Practicing at both the Valley Stream and Brooklyn locations, Dr. Hussaini is known for his thorough, unhurried consultations and his ability to explain complex medical conditions in plain, accessible language. He approaches medicine as a genuine partnership — one built on listening, trust, and a shared commitment to each patient's long-term health. Dr. Hussaini earned his Doctor of Medicine from UFHEC Facultad de Medicina in 1996 and completed his residency in Family Medicine at Stony Brook University and Southampton Hospital in 2005. He holds dual board certifications from the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) and the American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM) — a combination that enables him to address both primary care needs and substance use disorders within a single, continuous care relationship. He is affiliated with NYC Health + Hospitals Queens and Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. In his Family Medicine practice, Dr. Hussaini provides comprehensive, whole-patient care for children, adults, and seniors. His services include annual wellness exams, chronic disease management (hypertension, type 2 diabetes, hyperlipidemia, asthma, COPD), pediatric check-ups, women's health, preventive screenings, minor in-office procedures, and specialist coordination. He takes a prevention-first approach — identifying and addressing risk factors early, before they progress into more serious conditions — and maintains long-term continuity of care for his patients across all life stages. Dr. Hussaini's Addiction Medicine board certification sets him apart as a specialist in the treatment of opioid use disorder and substance dependence. He is a licensed buprenorphine prescriber, providing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) with Suboxone (buprenorphine/naloxone) as part of a structured, evidence-based recovery program. Dr. Hussaini approaches addiction without judgment, recognizing opioid use disorder as a treatable chronic medical condition, and works closely with each patient to build a recovery plan that is realistic, sustainable, and tailored to their individual circumstances. Dr. Hussaini believes that the quality of a physician-patient relationship is defined by communication. He ensures that every patient leaves their appointment with a clear understanding of their diagnosis, treatment plan, and next steps — and remains accessible for follow-up concerns. His care philosophy holds that informed patients make better health decisions, and that it is the physician's responsibility to provide that clarity. Dr. Hussaini is fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of Brooklyn and Long Island in their native languages. He is currently accepting new patients at both clinic locations, with walk-in and same-day appointments available.”
